Highland Village Fire Chief Arrested in Denton County Prostitution Sting

Jason Collier was charged with resisting arrest after he allegedly fought being handcuffed.

LEWISVILE, Texas - The Highland Village fire chief was among 14 arrested in a recent prostitution sting conducted by the Denton County Sheriff's Office in Lewisville on Thursday, June 13th.


Jason Collier, the fire chief of Highland Village, was arrested along with 13 others by the sheriff's office for attempting to purchase sexual favors for money during the operation.

According to KDFW, Jason Collier arranged to pay $120 for a sex act and went to a Motel 6 in Lewisville to meet up.


When confronted by deputies, he attempted to flee, reportedly exclaiming, "Wait."


Collier was tackled a short distance away and resisted being handcuffed.

Collier resigned, with his resignation effective from June 15th.


He was promoted from assistant fire chief to fire chief of Highland Village in 2022 and had been with the Highland Village Fire Department since 2008.


Collier was arrested by the Denton County Sheriff’s Office Human Trafficking Unit and was taken to the Denton County Jail. He posted bond the following day.
