Man Killed At Lewisville McDonalds

According to Police a red Toyota truck was backing out of a parking spot, suddenly sped up, and hit a man who was walking out of the restaurant.

LEWISVILLE, Texas - An 81-year-old man died after a red truck hit him as he was leaving a McDonald's in Lewisville, Texas, according to city officials speaking to WFAA.


The victim, identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner as George Edward Stepp, was struck by a red Toyota truck. The incident occurred around 9:25 a.m. on Saturday at the McDonald's located on West Main Street.


City officials told WFAA that the driver of the truck was backing out of a parking spot when he suddenly accelerated and hit Stepp. Sadly, Stepp passed away at the scene.


The driver of the truck was taken to Medical City Lewisville Hospital. Officials are investigating whether a medical issue caused the driver to accelerate quickly.


WFAA obtained a photo of the scene showing emergency responders present. The identity of the driver has not been disclosed by officials.


The area around the McDonald's was closed off on Saturday morning as investigators worked at the scene. No further details were available at the time of reporting.
