UNT Professor Arrested In Prostitution Sting

Peter Mondelli, a professor at the University of North Texas (UNT), found himself at the center of controversy after being arrested in a prostitution sting.

DENTON, Texas - According to an affidavit obtained by FOX 4 Peter Mondelli who was a professor at UNT, allegedly he offered to pay a woman from an online ad for sexual intercourse.


However, the ad was actually created by an investigator from the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office.


When Mondelli went to meet the woman at a hotel, he was arrested.


These arrests happened on March 28 and 29 during a joint effort by federal, state, and local law enforcement groups.


Mondelli was booked into the Denton County Jail charged with Solicitation for Prostitution.


Mondelli posted his departure from the University of North Texas to Facebook in May of 2024.
