Christopher Gregor, 31, is standing trial over the murder of his son Corey Micciolo, 6, who was allegedly beaten and abused for months before he died via blunt force trauma on April 2, 2021. During the New Jersey murder trial, testimony revealed that the father, whose son died days after he allegedly forced the boy to run at high speeds on a treadmill heartlessly left the room while medical personnel were attempting to save the child's life.
Over the years, Gregor has encountered multiple legal issues across several states, including Connecticut and Maryland. Public records indicate that between August 2017 and April 2018, he amassed over half a dozen criminal charges, including assault, robbery, and destruction of property.
Despite being offered a 30-year plea deal, Gregor declined, and now faces the possibility of life imprisonment if found guilty. He is currently held without bond at Ocean County Jail.
During his trial on Friday, footage was shared showing Gregor carrying his son through Southern Ocean Medical Center. Reports suggest that the six-year-old woke up from a nap feeling disoriented, confused, and nauseous. Gregor stands accused of fatally injuring his son, with separate footage presented during the trial depicting him forcing the child to repeatedly run and fall from a fast moving treadmill.
Gregor then repeatedly placed him back on the machine, where he fell multiple times more. 6 year old Corey was pronounced dead at 5:02 p.m. Surveillance footage showed his father leaving the hospital premises.
