Is Ozempic the New Miracle Drug for Weight Loss?

Kelly Osbourne praises Ozempic as 'Amazing,' Says Critics Are 'Pissed They Can't Afford It'

Ozempic, a brand name for semaglutide, is a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. Osbourne admits to abusing the drug as a form of weight loss. “There are a million ways to lose weight; why not do it through something that isn’t as boring as working out?” she told E! News.

However, Sharon Osbourne, the mother of Kelly Osbourne, has expressed concerns regarding the use of Ozempic, emphasizing the importance of keeping such medications away from younger people.

After exposing her current addiction to Ozempic and her struggles to stop using the drug, Sharon Osbourne told the Daily Mail in November 2023 that she couldn't "stop losing weight" after dropping 42 pounds.

Sharon Osbourne discussed the potential for addiction to Ozempic, stating, "you can lose so much weight, and it’s easy to become addicted to that, which is very dangerous," as reported by the Daily Mail. She issued a specific warning, saying, "Don’t give it to teenagers; it’s just too easy." At 71, she now weighs under 100 pounds.

The drug Ozempic works by suppressing the appetite, yet side effects such as muscle lossnausea , Rapid heartbeat, Thyroid cancer and diarrhea have been reported.

There have been reports that it is possible to put on rapid weight after discontinuing the medication.

Kelly Osbourne told E! she doesn't understand why some people are making the Ozempic craze such a big deal. Osbourne said, according to E! News. "Unfortunately, right now it’s something that is very expensive but it eventually won’t be because it actually works."

Would you try Ozempic?
