LEWISVILLE, Texas - On Friday, a tragic incident occurred on a sewer line construction site in Lewisville, resulting in the death of a construction worker, a city spokesperson reported.
The accident involved a 37-year-old worker from 2R Construction during a trench collapse around 2:30 p.m. in the Indian Oaks subdivision. Emergency response teams from the Lewisville Fire Department and the Coppell Fire Department's trench rescue unit were dispatched to the scene. The worker was declared deceased, and his body was subsequently recovered.
He was a member of a contractor team engaged by the city for a comprehensive street and utility overhaul project. Further details on the incident were not disclosed by the city's spokesperson on Friday evening.
