WASHINGTON- The Supreme Court, in a unanimous vote on Monday, March 4, 2024, decided to place Donald Trump back on the 2024 presidential primary ballots. This decision disregarded state attempts to exclude the former Republican president from the ballot, citing his involvement in the Capitol violence on January 6th, 2021.
Just one day before to the Super Tuesday primary elections, the Supreme Court decided that states could not use a post-Civil War constitutional clause to prevent presidential candidates from running for office. In an unsigned ruling, the court stated that Congress has such authority.
Former President Trump celebrated the Supreme Courts ruling as a “Big win for America!!!”
